Last Week of Summer

This summer has went by way too fast. I can't believe it's already time to go back to school. I spent the last weeks of summer babysitting and at concerts. The first concert I went to was Stevie Nicks and Rod Stewart. Now, I mainly only went for Stevie since I'm quite a huge Fleetwood Mac fan. She was awesome! I'm not a huge fan of Rod Stuart though. I was ready to leave by the time he came on. I sat through five or six of his songs before I couldn't take anymore. We finally left. All in all, it was good but not as good as Jack's Mannequin.

The weekend before school started, I had the opportunity to go to YEC (another concert) and help package food for less fortunate countries. We packed over 4,320 bags of food for Egypt. That was just in our group alone. Over all, 200,000 packages of food will be shipped there. How great is our God?!

Coffey Anderson and I.

We had open house the Tuesday after. I'm satisfied with my schedule. I'm not looking forward to graduating. I know I'm a junior but it hits me hard thinking there's only one year left after this. Football games, hanging out on weekends, it all goes by too fast. I grew up with  these people for 10+ years and to wake up one day and not see them all at the same time again is going to be so hard. I know, most people are  ready to get out of high school, but I'm just not at all. I've gone to this school since kindergarten and being a junior just does not seem right. Life is going by way too fast and I'm trying to cherish every moment.

So far, school is going well. We pretty much just got started and I'm not really expecting it to get easier. I rarely see half of my friends since they're in Votech. I'm expecting a lot of changes to happen this year. I don't really know if it results being good or bad. I guess we'll see....

That Beach Life

Last Tuesday (the 24th) , I endured a very interesting and exciting trip to Padre in Texas with Jen and Kayla. We left at 8:00 and made our first stop at "The Golden Arches" to get breakfast. From there We headed straight to Texas. Now, when you have three teenage girls in a car for seven hours straight, there is NEVER a dull moment. We saw some pretty interesting things on our way down there.. During those 8 hours , many of calls were made to Radio Disney which we did get through.  Then I laughed and they didn't really appreciate that. Other than that, we made plenty of pit stops… We finally made it to Jennifer's Nona's. Right when we got there we started getting ready to go to the Alamo Cafe.

And we're off!

All right, so this was one of the most interesting things we saw on the trip. Don't ask  me what he's doing.

Bye-bye Oklahoma!

This lady's hair was very intriguing.

Must this need a caption?

No Texan drove friendly.

On the road again...

Starbucks stop for cake pops and passion tea lemonade

Sweepy Kayla.

Jen gets dropped off at a ghetto restaurant.

The next day, we went to Schlitterbahn which is a water park. Not my cup of tea. My feet were in so much pain from walking on hot concrete. I wanted to cry. We then went back to Jen's nona's to pick up her mom so she could drive the next 3 hours to the condo. We stopped at a Burger restaurant in Corpus Christi. We made it to the condo around 10:30-11. We crashed so we could wake up at the butt crack of dawn to go to the beach. Which indeed, happened. We went out to the beach at 8,then the pool, back to the room, and repeat about 3 times. That's what we did for about 3 days. We also went shopping at the little shops. We met some mighty good looking fellows at some of them.
At one point during the trip, I dared Jen to jump off a bridge into the pool(It wasn't a legit bridge) for 20 bucks. She did it without fail. In order to get my 20 bucks back I had to go sit by this guy who was skyping his girlfriend and have a decent conversation with him. After contemplating it I came to the realization that this wasn't a big deal for me. I can talk to strangers like nobody's business. So i go over there, sit down,. and the kid doesn't even speak english. It was one of the most awkwardest (new word) moments of my life. Which is saying something. Woeful day, woeful day.
Sunday, we packed up all of our belongings, cleaned, and headed back to Nona's. We stopped in San Antonio where things took a turn for the worst. To sum things up my wallet got lost. We're going to leave it at that. We finally made it back to nona's though. We woke up the next morning at 6:50 to leave my 7. We then got caught in traffic where no one could drive properly (shout out to the fellow stupid Texas drivers.) We then made more calls into Radio Disney where we actually stayed on for more than 2 seconds. We had an awkward face contest with some random guy on the road. Saw a couple hobos which ruined my day, and made it home around 3. All in all, a successful trip. I had a blast. I can't wait for our next road trip.
Burger Company!

View from the room!

My Harry Potter scratch that showed up out of the blue.

I was convinced one of those fake owls was a cat. I freaked out because i thought it would jump. Haha

Summer 2012 is finally coming to an end. I might cry a little bit. Especially since it's ridiculously hot outside. Bring on Junior year.
