Senior Year

I know I haven't updated lately. Between college, working, and school in general, I haven't really found myself with time. It's my senior year. The final year of my childhood pretty much. This really hits hard when your ordering caps and gowns, or applying for colleges. It's finally hitting me that I only have one more football season to watch, one more prom, one more year with the people I grew up with. It truly amazes me that time goes by so fast.
I started my senior year on August 15th. I only have two classes and then I aid seventh hour. It's crazy to think I'm only at my school for 2 hours out of the day. So far, the year has been really great. I was cross country manager, I got voted class president, and I'm a FCA officer again. It truly amazes me how fast time goes by.
This year, I became best friends with a girl named Jordan. It's crazy because were equally weird. I don't know what id do without her! I've also became friends with a girl named Kelsey. She's new this year.
I've been taking some photos for the football player this year since I got a new camera at Christmas. So far, the parents and players are pleased, so I am as well.
I've gotten the privilege to sing the National Anthem not only at the Purcell Rodeo, but on Senior night as well which both were an amazing experience that I'll cherish forever.
I'm looking forward to this year and all it has to offer. I know it'll go by quickly so I'm trying to make the most of it.

Europe Trip 2013

First all, I would like to say this was an AMAZING trip and I got to spend it with amazing people. I wouldn't have been able to go if it werent for my parents they literally paid for majority of it and I'm so blessed to have been able to go. A teacher from my school goes all the time over to Europe and a couple friends and I got the privilege of going with her. We got to go to Germany,Italy, Austria,Switzerland, and Paris. It wasn't necessarily a culture shock, but the food and people were different. I had a blast though. There were tons of schools in our tour group as well. People from Minnesota, New Jersey, Texas, and New York, came with us.

The plane ride there was very long considering we couldn't wait to get going. Im so glad my three close friends got to go with me. The time change is six hours ahead of us, so sleeping was a little difficult but once you've ran around all day, it didn't really matter. I made so many great memories and friends on this trip that I'll never forget! I hope I'm able to go back again.

Thoughts

It literally breaks my heart when I'm getting to know a guy over text. You start talking about where your from, what you do for fun, what you want to do when you're older. He eventually asks you for a picture so he knows what you look like... Then, all of a sudden, you read those words that make your teeth cringe and fill your eyes with tears. The question that makes me wonder how guys even have the nerve to ask..."will you send me nudes?"
I was put in this situation tonight, and I've been put in it a time or two before. I never hesitate to say "no" though. I have many reasons why I'm against this, and can't even begin to explain how degrading it is to women. One, it is illegal. Why would you ever put that girl in such a position? I've read so many stories about girls sending inappropriate photos out and having the recover send them other kids. In the end, the girl will commit suicide all because of one irresponsible decision. Two, like I said before, it's degradable, and offensive. I can't begin to explain how used and mistreated I feel when I get asked this question. I thank God that I was raised in a church and to have high standards, and once you pop that question, I lose a ton of respect for you. Three, I barely knew the guy. How can a guy ask such a question when he only knows my name and what I like to do? I don't understand the thought process of some guys. It just makes me wonder if that's all guys ever think about.
If I were to have said yes, he would've thought he could have more. Which is highly night the case here. I know where I stand, I know my standards, and what I believe in. God puts us in situations to see what our outcome will be. Thankfully, I passed this test, but my heart still breaks for all the girls who get asked this. Peer pressure is hard to overcome, but with God, it's possible to overcome it.

In 1st Timothy 2:9 it says " I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes."

You shouldn't feel the need to satisfy a guy by doing things that don't please God. If he truly likes you for who you are, he won't ask for such things.

In Matthew 15:19 He says "for out of the heart comes sinful thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. Those are what make a man 'unclean';but eating with unwashed hands does not make him 'unclean'

God is saying that we all have sinful thoughts, but it's how we respond to them that matters.

In Galatians 5:3, God talks about how we shouldn't do things a certain way to impress a guy, much less others
"For of this you can be sure: no immoral, impure, greedy person-such a man is an idolater- has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God."

1st Corinthians 6:19

"Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own"

Our body is sacred and something we should honor to glorify God. We should have respect for ourselves and not let anyone take advantage of us just because we want to impress someone.

John 7:24

"Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.”

We shouldn't judge others by what they look like. Looks don't last forever, but a good heart does. Make sure you're going after someone who's into doing the right thing. Not because they have good physical features.

I read on twitter once that when a guy asks for an inappropriate photo, to send your favorite bible verse back to him. I never got around to trying it, but I think it's a wonderful idea and something I will try next time. You see, there are good guys out there. God has the perfect timing  and his ways will always endure. Some guys, and ladies, do not have the privilege of being raised in a Christian home and it breaks my heart to know that. It's hard for me to fathom my life without my Savior. I pray for the guys that mistreat girls and think its okay to ask questions that don't make them feel worthy. I pray for the guys who weren't raised in a Godly environment to be able to have high standards and know what true love is. I pray for the girls out there who have and are in the situation I am and were able to stand up to them. I also pray for the girls who gave in, and fell into peer pressure not knowing that they were more special and didn't deserve to be put in such a position.

Like I said, if it wasn't for my high standards, my beliefs, and my faith in God, I would not have had the courage to say no. My point is modest is hottest, and no one deserves to be put in a situation to where they feel like they have to be uncomfortable to keep someone satisfied. I pray that the guys who ask such questions and desire such things, come to the realization that it is unacceptable to treat a girl like that.

God Bless.

Prom 2013

Hair,nails,make-up,dress,shoes...what girl doesn't dream about her first prom?  The decorations,venue,music-everything must be perfect! Of course, prom is blown way out of proportion. You pay $300 dollars for a dress that you only wear for two hours and then you're literally an inch away from everyone on the dance floor. So technically, it's not "dancing," it's just a huge grind fest. While prom might have been a "breeze" for most people-it was definitely not the easiest event for me.
I had the great idea to join prom committee at the beginning of the year-the junior class always plans prom. We didn't even start planning till February, but whatever. We decided on decorations, venue, food, you name it. It was stressful considering our "sponsor" ( I add quotations because she was no such help whatsoever) didn't do anything for us. A lot of choice words were yelled during this time and I can say that I do not miss it at all. As for the dress and such, I  had it picked out last September... which helped a lot because I'm normally overwhelmed by such things. I didn't even try any on in the store...The down side was I had to order my dress from China which took awhile to arrive and that made me very nervous. It came in two weeks before prom, and it fit like a charm. I'm fortunate enough to have a wonderful cousin who happens to be ditzy like myself, who can do hair and makeup quite exquisitely. That saved me quite a couple of Benjamin Franklins. I also had a wonderful date who was perfect in every way. He's a grade  below me and I offered to take him as friends. He's also photogenic as well. I went with a great group of friends who I would not trade for the world. Although the limo company forgot we ordered a party bus and got us a limo instead, although I didn't wear my shoes in the restaurant, and although we were late for prom itself, we did make it, we did drop it like it was hot, and we did pull an all nighter because track state was the next day and I was crazy enough to say I would take pictures. All in all, I wouldn't trade a thing, and I look forward to my senior prom...partially because I don't have to plan it , or pay dues. Holler at your boy.

Enjoy some Pitchas.( "I spelt that wrong on purpose" said the grammar nazi).
